TL;DR — There is no rapture!
Standing in a very loooooong line of end of world predictions, the 23rd of September 2025 will/has come and gone like any other day. Christian predictions, like this one, are based on misinterpretations of scripture and how scriptures function. Dan McClellan, a scholar of the bible and religion, explains this here.
Allow me to extend my apologies, as a minister of religion, for the Christian church being so incredibly bible-illiterate that we unintentional issue these regular false alarms. It is most unfortunate that people are adversely affected by such ignorance perpetuated by the church.
While ‘end of the world’ scenarios are not impossible and worth reflecting on, region-motivated predictions can be safely ignored.
As tiring as continually refuting false claims is, we must. Gracious education can help people find their way from misinformation. Rapture aside, our impending death does confront us with our mortality, prompts us to consider what is of most importance, and challenges us on how we should therefore live.
Peace be upon you as you navigate the often-disturbed waters of ignorance, belief, and your own mortality.
